Mark C. Hanna
President and Chief Executive Officer of Virginia Company Bank

A graduate of Wake Forest University and MBA recipient from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Mark Hanna has been in the banking industry for over 19 years.  Past experience includes credit, lending, and management positions, prior to moving to Hampton Roads in 2002.  From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Hanna served as Peninsula Area Executive for BB&T. Mr. Hanna joined Virginia Company Bank as President in September of 2005 and became President and CEO in November 2006.  He is active in a number of Peninsula civic and education organizations.  Of special note, Mr. Hanna served as the Chairman of the American Heart Association Heartwalk in 2004 and as the Sponsorship Chair for the event in 2005.  He is currently serving as the Chairman Elect for the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and is Chair of the Development Committee and a Director for the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Red Cross.  In addition, Mr. Hanna is on the Board for the Olde Towne Medical Center and the Colonial Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.

Michael R. McAllister
Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. McAllister joined Virginia Company Bank in the summer of 2008.  He brings to the Bank over a decade of experience in various financial roles.  Most recently, Mr. McAllister led Virginia Community Bank as a Director, President and Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of the Bank.
He is a graduate of San Diego University and received his MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Evan L. Curbeam
Executive Vice President and Commercial Banking Manager

Evan Curbeam joined Virginia Company Bank in September 2009. Evan has sixteen years of banking experience that started with First Union Bank, predecessor to what is now Wells Fargo Bank after a succession of mergers. He held leadership positions in both sales and portfolio management for Wells Fargo’s Small Business Banking Division and Risk Management Division. Additionally, he’s a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and received his MBA from Virginia Tech. In 2006, Evan was appointed by Governor Tim Kaine to sit on the board for the Center for Innovative Technology. He is actively involved in United Way and volunteers with his local fire department.

Patrick “Kelley” Gowen
Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer
Kelley Gowen joined the Bank in his current role during the summer of 2008.  His 30 year banking career has included time with predecessor banks to Bank of America, RBC, and BB&T, all throughout the Hampton Roads area. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Mr. Gowen has also completed additional post-graduate education with various institutions.
