“Bill brings to Virginia Company Bank nearly 29 years of experience and a wealth of expertise in
commercial banking. He has in-depth experience in real estate finance and relationship

Carr spent 24 years with SunTrust Bank, achieving increasingly senior positions. Prior to
SunTrust, Carr was a commercial relationship manager with legacy Wachovia in Raleigh, NC.
Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Commercial Real Estate at
SunTrust, where he managed a team and a credit portfolio in excess of $120 million to
commercial/residential real estate developers and investors located in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland.

Virginia Company Bank has purchased the corner land parcel and the first floor commercial space of The Point at City Center Building. They will relocate their current Newport News banking office, as well as the corporate offices in the 13,500 Sq. Ft. space located on Merchants Walk in City Center. The Bank teamed up with Gloria Dei to develop an interactive way for the classroom lessons to
come to life. The kindergarten classes have been learning about money in school, and the field
trip offered a great hands-on opportunity.

Nine volunteers from Virginia Company Bank set up stations around the Hampton banking
office, and the kids toured each station in groups of twelve. Each stop offered a different lesson,
from coinage to how to write a check to what goes in a safe deposit box. They even learned how
the drive-thru works and how to tell if money is counterfeit.

“All the kids had a blast, and the Bank was so excited to help make their lessons on money
interactive and exciting,” said Melinda Smith, Vice President and Retail Market Manager for the
Hampton office. “Hopefully we can continue the tradition next year.”
