Williamsburg, VA (May 4, 2011) – The Board of Directors at Virginia Company Bank
(www.vacompanybank.com) is excited to announce that the Bank has broken ground on a new
banking office in Williamsburg’s High Street development. The five year old bank currently has
branches at Oyster Point in Newport News, Coliseum Central in Hampton, and New Town in
Williamsburg. The Williamsburg office at New Town, led by Retail Market Manager Don Rudy,
will relocate to High Street this coming winter.

“We are looking forward to moving to our first free-standing location in Williamsburg,” said
Bank President and CEO Mark Hanna. “High Street is a great development and a location we feel
will allow us to better serve our existing clients, as well as attract new ones.”

Located on Richmond Road, the new banking office will be approximately 10,000 square feet in
size and feature a traditional design. The second floor will include office space as well as
meeting space that will be available to local civic organizations. A three-lane drive-thru will
make on-the-go banking easy and convenient. The building is being designed by Caro Monroe
Liang Architects and constructed by Oyster Point Construction.

The new Williamsburg banking office is slated to open in winter 2011. Photos of the
groundbreaking and a rendering of the new banking office have been included with this release.
