Senior Vice President and Williamsburg Market Executive.
“Bill brings to Virginia Company Bank nearly 29 years of experience and a wealth of expertise in
commercial banking. He has in-depth experience in real estate finance and relationship
management,” said Bank President and CEO Mark Hanna.
Carr spent 24 years with SunTrust Bank, achieving increasingly senior positions. Prior to
SunTrust, Carr was a commercial relationship manager with legacy Wachovia in Raleigh, NC.
Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and Market Manager for Commercial Real Estate at
SunTrust, where he managed a team and a credit portfolio in excess of $120 million to
commercial/residential real estate developers and investors located in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland.

A graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, Carr also received his Certified Financial Planner
designation from the College for Financial Planning. Active in public and trade service
organizations, Carr currently serves on the Economic Development Authority for the City of
Williamsburg. He previously served over 12 years on the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City
of Williamsburg including two as its chairman; he was also treasurer for the Historic Triangle
Real Estate Group for numerous years. He previously served as secretary and board member of
Housing Partnerships, Inc., and was a member of the Williamsburg Community Builders
Association, the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate, and the Kiwanis Club
